While studying biology, Miles was inspired to pick up the banjo by Louisiana ex-pat Dr. Lee Foote. It was then that he fell in love with bluegrass and old-time music through the banjo and later the dobro. After several years in the corporate world, Miles put his career on hold to pursue music full time and he has not looked back. With a passion for folk music of all types, Miles has been exploring diverse fiddle traditions on the dobro and banjo. he has toured internationally with acclaimed artists Zachary Lucky, John Lowell, Blaine Sprouse, and as a member of the Greg Blake Band. He has also appeared with Veranda and is a member of Happy Trails Prospectors.
Miles will enhance your banjo skills and lead you on rolls while sharing some licks and tricks, to take your banjo playing to the next level. Focusing on timing and tone for bluegrass banjo.
If you want to learn more from Miles, he will be teaching at NimbleFingers in Sorrento BC: Week 1-banjo; and Week 2-dobro. He also offers online and in person lessons.
