Lonesome Town Painters

RiverCity Bluegrass Festival - Lonesome Town Painters

The Lonesome Town Painters are a tried-and-true, bona fide bluegrass band hailing from Vancouver, and they jumped at the opportunity to be part of our first ever RiverCity Bluegrass Festival.

They have a distinctive look, style, and sound reminiscent of the raw, ragged edges of early bluegrass and mountain music. While they draw deeply from the masters of the golden era, it’s the band’s original songs that demonstrate just how far the Lonesome Town Painters can go. Their songwriting is rooted in tradition with soaring harmonies and melodic instrumentation and drive that has come to define their spirited and highly entertaining performances.

Playing an eclectic mix of songs about love, heartache, prison, and the odd gospel number, this hard-hitting quartet would be equally at home in the barroom on Saturday night or in church on Sunday morning.

The Lonesome Town Painters are Patrick Bartel (banjo and lead vocals), Jeremy Freeman (mandolin and lead vocals), Fred Beach (bass), and Angelo Eidse (guitar and lead vocals) with everyone—in true bluegrass tradition—singing harmony.
